The Guillotine is a very unique piece of apparatus created by Joseph Pilates. It is rarely used or taught. Tecno Pilates now makes this special piece of apparatus for the true Pilates practitioner and offers a workshop to teach you how to teach on the Guillotine. We will learn how to observe and correct imbalances in the body from the head down to the feet to connect deeper with the Powerhouse and learn more about the Pilates Method. The Guillotine demands the practitioner move their body in a symmetrical fashion, deeply concentrate and focus. This is why the Guillotine is important for the beginner to the advanced student. There are simplistic exercises to begin with in supine positions to standing positions. As the student progresses the work on the Guillotine can progress with them. Because the Guillotine has many attachments for the Breathing Bar, Arm Springs, Leg Springs, Neck Stretcher and Fluffies we can use all of these attachments and climb the Guillotine. In the workshop we will explore beginner to advanced exercises learning technique first for each exercise at each level. Then we will explore choreography. Finally you will learn how to incorporate the Guillotine as a full workout or as an Ending for the session. The teacher will find a great deal of creativity on the Guillotine due to its multi-facets from exercises lying down on the mat, seated exercises, standing exercises and the most advanced hanging exercises. These exercises will all be taught and discussed during this workshop. Time will be set aside to work with one another practicing the exercises and create your own choreography. You will begin using the Guillotine right away. Be prepared to move during this workshop.
